Bangladesh Imports Diesel from India

Bangladesh is importing 5,000 tons of Diesel fuel from India via a pipeline, entering through the Parbatipur border. This shipment is part of an existing agreement where India will supply 180,000 tons of Diesel fuel to Bangladesh annually. Muhammad Rezanur Rahman, chairman of Bangladesh===Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, confirmed that at least 90,000 tons are expected within six months, with the current 5,000 tons being the first installment. This import comes amidst efforts by the Bangladesh government, specifically the Bangladesh===Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, to combat illegal stockpiling and artificial shortages of fuel within the country, with mobile court drives being conducted in Dhaka.
