The market is positively impacted by the advancements in 5G-A and the roadmap to 6G, driven by Huawei's initiatives. This will lead to increased investment in telecommunications infrastructure and AI-related services, potentially boosting the stock prices of companies in these sectors. The expansion of connectivity to underserved communities also opens new market opportunities.
During MWC Barcelona (MWC) Barcelona 2026, Yang Chaobin, CEO of Huawei's ICT Business Group, emphasized the critical role of 5G-A in the mobile AI era. He called on the ICT industry to intensify efforts in deploying 5G-A and new spectrum, like U6 GHz, to support AI applications and expand access to underserved communities. Yang highlighted the need for networks to deliver ultra-high bandwidth for both uplink and downlink to support multimodal data exchanges for AI, as well as secure, reliable, and ultra-low-latency connectivity for real-time AI collaboration. Huawei is committed to paving the way for 6G, with standards expected in 2029, and views the next five years as a 'golden window' for mobile AI services driven by 5G-A. Huawei's RuralStar solution has already connected 170 million people in over 80 countries, enabling digital education in Kenya, financial services in Bangladesh, and remote medical care in Argentina.
