This manufacturing agreement is expected to positively impact the Indian electronics manufacturing sector by boosting domestic production and creating jobs. It signals a move towards greater self-reliance in smart device manufacturing, potentially reducing reliance on foreign imports and fostering local brands.
Ai+ Smartphone has partnered with Optiemus Infracom===Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL), a subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom Limited, to manufacture mobile phones, tablets, IoT devices, and advanced wearable products in India. The companies plan to jointly invest approximately Rs 125 crore over five years under the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative. This project, set to ramp up production from April 2026 at OEL's Noida facility, is expected to create around 1,200 direct and indirect jobs. OEL will produce an estimated 3 million Ai+ Smartphone mobile devices, with the scope expanding to other smart devices. This collaboration aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing, ensure tighter supply chain control for Ai+ Smartphone, and position India for future export-led growth in the electronics sector.
