Essiet visited Kwande Local Government Area to engage directly with residents, gather their concerns regarding security responses and natural resource management, and reassure them of the government's commitment. She met with officials from the Nigeria===State Security Service (Nigeria) and Operation Whirl Stroke to address issues of delayed responses and trust. The Nigeria===Nigerian Army is emphasized as neutral and committed to protecting lives. The Turan Development Association, led by Abaa Bichi, highlighted the organized nature of the attacks and the role of illegal miners, calling for a suspension of mining and reconstruction of federal roads. The government plans to ensure legal mining and corporate social responsibility benefit local communities.
