The market is likely to react positively to SKF's strategic restructuring, as it aims for increased transparency and a focused approach for its core industrial and automotive businesses. The planned listing of the Automotive business on Nasdaq Stockholm could attract new investors and potentially unlock value for SKF shareholders.
SKF announced a new segment reporting structure, effective from Q1 2026, to enhance transparency and reflect its strategic focus. The company will now report three business segments: Bearing Solutions, Specialized Industrial Solutions (SIS), and Automotive. SIS will include Aerospace, Lubrication Lifetime Solutions, Sealing Solutions, and Magnetic Solutions. As part of this restructuring, SKF's sealing business for automotive applications will be transferred from the Automotive segment to SIS, resulting in a 2.4 BSEK decrease in Automotive segment sales for 2025. SKF also plans to list its Automotive business on Nasdaq Stockholm during Q4 2026, subject to board and shareholder approval. Restated financial information for 2024 and 2025 has been published to provide historical comparability under the new structure.
