Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja threatened to commit Marshall Abubakar, the lead defence lawyer for Omoyele Sowore, for contempt of court. Abubakar was ordered to 'come out and kneel down' for raising his voice and being perceived as rude during proceedings. Other lawyers intervened to beg the judge for forgiveness. Sowore is being prosecuted by the Nigeria===State Security Service (Nigeria) for allegedly making false claims against President Bola Tinubu. The court adjourned the case to April 13 for the adoption of final written addresses regarding a no-case submission. Earlier, Sowore was asked to surrender electronic devices he had in the dock.
