The Government of India has approved a hike in commission rates for Arthiyas (commission agents) and cooperative societies involved in the procurement of Wheat and Paddy. This revision, effective from the Rabi Marketing Season 2026-27, follows recommendations from a sub-committee and requests from several state governments, including Punjab, India===Haryana, and India===Rajasthan. For Arthiyas in Punjab and India===Haryana, the wheat commission will rise to ₹50.75 per quintal, and in India===Rajasthan to ₹45.67 per quintal. Paddy commission for Arthiyas will increase to ₹50.61 per quintal. Cooperative societies will also see increased commissions for both Wheat and Paddy procurement. The move aims to ensure the efficiency of the procurement system and adequately compensate agencies facilitating procurement operations for the India===Food Corporation of India and the India===Department of Food and Public Distribution.
