This collaboration between STMicroelectronics and Nvidia is expected to significantly boost the development and adoption of physical AI systems, particularly in robotics. It will streamline the design process for developers, potentially leading to faster innovation and growth in the robotics and AI markets.
STMicroelectronics announced a collaboration with Nvidia to accelerate the global expansion of physical AI systems, including humanoid, industrial, service, and healthcare robots. STMicroelectronics is integrating its advanced robotics portfolio into the NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB), and high-fidelity NVIDIA Isaac Sim models of STMicroelectronics components will be incorporated into both companies' robotics environments. This initiative aims to enable faster and more accurate sim-to-real research and development. The first deliverables include the integration of Leopard Imaging's depth camera, enabled by STMicroelectronics, with the NVIDIA HSB, and an STMicroelectronics IMU model into NVIDIA's Isaac Sim ecosystem. The objective is to simplify the connection of STMicroelectronics sensors and actuators to NVIDIA Jetson platforms through pre-integrated solutions, reducing development costs and challenges for advanced robotics.
