Katsina State Insecurity Resurgence

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria===Katsina State, Nigeria, has voiced serious concerns over a renewed wave of deadly attacks by armed groups in communities like Farun Bala, Dandume, and Jikamshi. These incidents have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, disrupting livelihoods and threatening socio-economic stability, especially as the crucial wet farming season approaches. The coalition has called for an urgent and comprehensive review of existing peace agreements with these armed groups, highlighting their perceived ineffectiveness. While acknowledging the efforts of Governor Dikko Umar Radda, the CSOs have appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government of Nigeria to deploy robust security measures and empower security forces to tackle the escalating crisis in Nigeria===Katsina State and the wider North-West and North-East regions. Lawmakers from Nigeria===Katsina State are also urged to prioritize these security challenges.
