Tripura Tribal Council Election Announced

The India===Tripura State Election Commission announced that elections for the 30-member India===Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council will be held on April 13, with vote counting on April 17. The Model Code of Conduct has been enforced immediately. A total of 962,697 voters are eligible to participate. Comprehensive security measures, including the deployment of 11,000 personnel from India===Tripura Police, India===Tripura State Rifles, and Central Armed Police Forces, will be implemented under the supervision of Director General of Police Anurag. The India===Border Security Force will also increase vigilance along the Bangladesh border. The current India===Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council is governed by the India===Tipra Motha Party, an ally of the India===Bharatiya Janata Party. Major political parties, including the India===Tipra Motha Party, India===Bharatiya Janata Party, India===Indigenous People s Front of Tripura, India===Communist Party of India (Marxist), and India===Indian National Congress, are intensifying their campaigns to secure support among the tribal population, which constitutes nearly one-third of India===Tripura's 4.2 million residents.
