This event has minimal direct impact on financial markets, as it primarily concerns the education sector in Nigeria. However, the technical issues faced by Computer-Based Test centres could indirectly affect technology providers in the education sector.
The Nigeria===Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Mock, conducted on March 28, 2026. A total of 224,597 candidates registered, with 152,586 successfully sitting for the test across 989 Computer-Based Test centres nationwide. Following the examination, over 20 Computer-Based Test centres were delisted due to technical challenges and inadequacies. Candidates can check their results via SMS. The board, through its Registrar Ishaq Oloyede and spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, warned candidates against fraudulent score manipulation and reiterated that the mock scores do not count towards the main UTME, scheduled for April 16, 2026. This follows significant technical glitches and alleged malpractice during the 2025 UTME, which led to public outrage and calls for Ishaq Oloyede's resignation.
