Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan appointed CMD of Power Grid Corporation of India

Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the India===Ministry of Power. The appointment is effective April 1, 2026, and his term will last until July 31, 2030. Prior to this elevation, Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan served as Director (Projects) within Power Grid Corporation of India. He is an accomplished engineering professional with over 33 years of experience in power transmission and telecom sectors, having held various strategic and policy-making roles. He was a founding member of Power Grid Corporation of India's Regulatory Cell and played a key role in its entry into competitive bidding. As CEO of Power Grid Corporation of India===POWERGRID Teleservices Limited, he led the expansion of the telecom business and initiated the organization's first Data Centre project. His appointment is expected to drive Power Grid Corporation of India's continued growth and leadership in India's power transmission sector.
