The frequency of attacks had recently decreased after Kata ib Hezbollah declared a pause, but the group did not extend it. The United States===United States Embassy, Baghdad has also urged US citizens to leave Iraq immediately due to threats of kidnapping, following the abduction of American journalist Kidnapping of Shelly Kittleson, with a suspect linked to Kata ib Hezbollah detained.
