On April 5, 2026, suspected armed bandits attacked the Karadua-Musawa Road in Matazu Local Government Area, Nigeria===Katsina State, opening fire on a Volkswagen Golf vehicle and killing two civilians. A joint team of the Nigeria===Katsina State Police Command, Nigeria===Nigerian Army, Nigeria===Katsina State Community Watch Corps, and local vigilantes responded, dislodging the assailants. The bandits later regrouped and attempted to attack the Musawa Police Division, where officers successfully repelled the assault, but one police officer lost his life. Commissioner of Police Ali Umar-Fage has deployed additional operational assets and ordered an investigation. Governor Dikko Radda visited the affected Sayaya village to assess damage and offer condolences.
