They are accused of impersonating National Security operatives to extort money and seize equipment from miners in communities like Suiaboi. The alleged ringleader, Amponsah Asare Wagan, reportedly organized the group in Kumasi and rented a Toyota Hilux from LEASAFRIC. During their operations, they allegedly damaged mining equipment, ransacked rooms, and stole mobile phones and GH¢2,000. Amponsah Asare Wagan later confessed to being contracted by a former employee, Yaw, to expose the activities of his ex-boss. The Ghana===Western North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Francis Tsidi, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects will be arraigned after investigations are complete.
