Alaafin of Oyo Warns Land Grabbers

Oba Akeem Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo, has issued a strong warning against land grabbers who are using violence, threats, and coercion to extort money from legitimate property owners in 12 villages within the Nigeria===Oyo West Local Government Area. These activities have led to a surge in illegal transactions and violent encroachments, undermining investor confidence and threatening community peace. In response, Akeem Owoade has established a Land Committee to restore order and legality to land administration. He also reminded perpetrators of the Nigeria===Oyo State Real Properties Protection Law 2016, which imposes up to 15 years imprisonment for land grabbers and their accomplices. The monarch emphasized his administration's commitment to protecting lives and property and urged the public to disregard false claims of land ownership.
