Nigeria===Lagos State has officially abolished manual processing of building and planning permits, mandating the use of its new Electronic Physical Planning Process System (EPPPS) from April 1, 2026. This reform, championed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and announced by Special Adviser Olajide Babatunde, aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and curb fraud in building approvals. The EPPPS is a web-based platform designed to modernize operations and eliminate bottlenecks. Complementary initiatives include the Certified Accredited Programme (CAP) for building control, deployment of Aumentum software for land administration, and integration of the Moola Tracker system to simplify mortgage consent. These measures are intended to improve the ease of doing business, guarantee land registry integrity, and reduce structural failures, positioning Nigeria===Lagos State as a leader in digital governance.
