Indian Navy Conference on West Asia Crisis

The India===Indian Navy held its biannual commanders' conference in New Delhi from April 14-16, led by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. The primary focus was to deliberate on the implications of the West Asia crisis on India's energy security and to review the India===Indian Navy's operational posture to protect national maritime interests. Discussions covered enhancing blue-water capabilities, effective employment of uncrewed systems, and inter-services coordination. The conference also aimed to promote the India===Indian Navy as a 'preferred security partner' in the Indian Ocean Region and Indo-Pacific. Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan also addressed the commanders, emphasizing national stability and a collaborative approach to future maritime challenges. The India===Indian Navy has been actively escorting Indian-flagged merchant vessels through the Gulf of Oman to ensure safe passage amidst disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
