The launch of VinFast's VF MPV 7 and its aggressive expansion plans in India are expected to intensify competition in the Indian electric vehicle market. This will likely benefit consumers with more choices and potentially drive down prices, while also signaling increased foreign investment in India's automotive sector.
Vietnamese electric carmaker VinFast has launched its new premium electric seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle, the VF MPV 7, in India, priced at Rs 24.49 lakh. This marks VinFast's third product introduction in India within a year, joining the VF 6 and VF 7. The company, led by VinFast India CEO Tapan Ghosh, is committed to offering multiple product options, including electric scooters later this year, and plans to launch two new models annually. VinFast is also significantly expanding its retail and service network across India, targeting 75 showrooms and 230 workshops nationwide by the end of 2026. The VF MPV 7, assembled at VinFast's facility in Thoothukudi, India===Tamil Nadu, features a 150 kW powertrain, a 60.13 kWh battery, and an ARAI-certified range of 517 km on a single charge. This strategic move underscores VinFast's growing commitment to the Indian market and its diverse mobility needs.
