Plateau State Attacks Kill Six

Two coordinated overnight attacks in the Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Nigeria===Plateau State, Nigeria, resulted in the deaths of at least six people and injuries to eight others. The first incident occurred in Hurum Gashish community, Barkin Ladi, where gunmen opened fire on residents, killing four and injuring five. Approximately an hour later, a similar attack in Shonong Bachi community, Riyom, left two dead and three injured. Residents reported widespread panic and criticized the security agencies for an inadequate response, despite prior warnings about suspicious movements. Local vigilantes were overwhelmed by the assailants' superior firepower. The Berom Youth Moulders Association confirmed the incidents and called for swift government action to address the persistent insecurity.
