US Awards F-16 Radar Support Contract

The United States has awarded a $488 million contract to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation for long-term engineering and technical support of APG-66 and APG-68 radar systems used in F-16 Fighting Falcon jets. This firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity agreement, effective until March 31, 2036, falls under the Foreign Military Sales framework and includes multiple allied and partner countries, with Pakistan being a significant beneficiary. This development follows a separate notification in December 2025 by the United States — Defense Security Cooperation Agency to the United States Congress regarding a proposed $686 million package to upgrade and support Pakistan's F-16 fleet, with Lockheed Martin identified as the principal contractor. These initiatives aim to ensure the continued operational readiness, enhance interoperability with partner forces, and extend the service life of F-16 fleets, particularly for Pakistan, into the next decade.
