Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Drug Campaign Review

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting in India — Jammu and Kashmir to review the 'Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan' (Drug-Free India — Jammu and Kashmir Campaign). The campaign aims to eliminate drug abuse and narco-terrorism through a focused, time-bound strategy over the next 78 days. Manoj Sinha directed district administrations to ensure effective implementation of anti-drug measures, emphasizing grassroots-level engagement with community stakeholders, including religious leaders, educationists, traders, youth groups, and social activists. Special emphasis was placed on youth engagement through sports and recreational activities, with instructions to develop playfields and organize competitions. Manoj Sinha reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics, calling for strict enforcement actions against drug traffickers, including the swift implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the cancellation or suspension of driving licenses and passports of drug peddlers. He also directed the identification and seizure of properties linked to narco-terrorists and drug smugglers, intensified inspection of pharmaceutical shops, and action against fake de-addiction centers. The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening Mahila Samitis and Youth Clubs and utilizing Block Diwas and Thana Diwas for public grievances.
