Brookfield, The Nuclear Company Form Venture

Brookfield Corporation, a global investment firm, and The Nuclear Company, a nuclear project development company, have partnered to form a new company. This new entity will specialize in developing Westinghouse Electric Company nuclear reactor technology, including AP1000 and AP300, with the ambition to become a world-leading nuclear project execution company. The partnership aims to accelerate nuclear development in the United States. As part of this initiative, the newly formed company has been selected as the project manager for the V.C. Summer Nuclear Units 2 and 3 project in Fairfield County, South Carolina, which involves two partially constructed AP1000 units. Santee Cooper, South Carolina's state-owned utility, supports this role. The development of the project is subject to further evaluation, regulatory approvals, and definitive agreements.
