Nscale has announced a major expansion of its collaboration with Microsoft and Start Campus, involving the deployment of over 66,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs at the SINES Data Campus in Portugal, starting in late 2027. This agreement includes Nscale's additional investments of €230 million in shared infrastructure and €465 million in a second 200MW building at the SINES Data Campus, making it one of the most significant AI infrastructure projects in the EU and Portugal. The SINES Data Campus, operated by Start Campus and underpinned by Davidson Kempner Capital Management's commitment, is fully permitted for 1.2GW, providing a clear path to meet the rising demand for AI infrastructure. This initiative aims to strengthen Europe's ability to support sovereign AI development, positioning Portugal as a strategic gateway for Europe's AI economy with secure, sustainable, and high-density infrastructure.
