Delhi approves Dwarka medical college

The India — Delhi government, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved the construction of a new medical college and hostel complex at the Indira Gandhi Co-operative Hospital campus in Dwarka. The project, estimated at Rs 805.99 crore, aims to be completed by 2028. It will include a medical college, separate hostels, faculty housing, and an academic block, developed according to India — National Medical Commission norms. The college will eventually accommodate 250 MBBS seats annually, starting with 150 students. The International — List of public works ministries will handle construction, while the India — Health and Family Welfare Department will oversee the project. The campus will feature sustainable and earthquake-resistant designs, including solar power, rainwater harvesting, and accessibility for persons with disabilities. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized strict adherence to quality and timelines, viewing the project as a long-term investment in India — Delhi's healthcare future.
