This achievement by Shufti Pro is expected to positively impact the identity verification market by setting a new benchmark for passive liveness detection, potentially increasing trust in biometric systems. For Shufti Pro, it enhances its competitive position and could lead to increased adoption of its technology in regulated industries.
Shufti Pro, a global identity verification and fraud prevention company, announced that its passive face liveness technology achieved Level 3 Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) conformance under ISO/IEC 30107-3. This was confirmed by independent evaluation from iBeta Quality Assurance, a NIST/NVLAP-accredited biometric testing laboratory. Shufti Pro is the first European company to reach iBeta Level 3 conformance on both iOS and Android platforms using a fully passive, single-selfie biometric verification approach, recording 0% APCER and 0% BPCER. The testing involved 900 presentation attacks and 100 bona fide presentations, with no successful spoofing attempts. This milestone is significant for regulated industries like financial services and fintech, where robust identity assurance and frictionless user experience are crucial. Shahid Hanif, CEO of Shufti Pro, emphasized that this achievement reflects the quality of their underlying platform on mainstream consumer phones.
