Bangladesh Measles Outbreak Kills Children

Bangladesh is currently grappling with a severe measles outbreak, which has led to the deaths of 424 children and infected over 51,000 individuals with suspected symptoms since March 15. The India — Directorate General of Health Services has been consistently reporting on the escalating crisis, with nine more child deaths occurring in a recent 24-hour period. Bangladesh — Dhaka Division has been the most severely affected, accounting for 186 deaths and 27,932 infections. Other divisions like Bangladesh — Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh — Chittagong Division, Bangladesh — Khulna Division, Bangladesh — Barisal Division, Bangladesh — Mymensingh Division, and Bangladesh — Sylhet Division have also reported fatalities, while Bangladesh — Rangpur Division recorded the lowest hospital admissions.
