Telangana Bakrid Security Measures

N. Anand, the Director General of Police for India — Telangana, announced stringent security measures to ensure peace and communal harmony during the upcoming Bakrid festival. These measures include establishing 52 inter-state and 203 intra-state check posts to prevent illegal cattle transportation, intensifying vehicle checks, and monitoring cattle fairs. Officials were instructed to strictly enforce the Cow Slaughter Act, 1977, the Transport of Animals Rules, 1978, and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. Warnings were issued against disturbing peace, taking law into one's own hands, or circulating provocative content on social media. Coordination meetings are being held with various groups and departments, including Municipal Administration and Urban Development (represented by Pappu Yadav) and Animal Husbandry (represented by K. Ilambarthi), to ensure smooth operations and provide necessary facilities for seized animals.
