GLN International, a subsidiary of Hana Bank under Mizuho Financial Group, has announced the expansion of its QR payment coverage across China. This expansion is achieved through integration with the Tencent — WeChat Pay (WeChat Pay) network, operated by Tencent — Tenpay Global. This new connectivity allows GLN International users to make seamless QR payments at a broader range of merchants in China, complementing its existing partnership with UnionPay. The service enables users to pay directly through familiar Korean financial apps like Purple GLN, Hana OneQ, Hana Money, Hana Card, and Toss, without needing local Chinese apps or physical cards. CEO Suk Lee stated that this move aims to provide users with a consistent and convenient payment experience overseas.
