The Indian tech job market is undergoing a significant transformation, with a strong demand for AI-fluent professionals. This shift is leading to substantial salary increases for individuals who upskill in AI, as evidenced by the outcomes of ERC's programs. This trend indicates a positive outlook for the tech education sector in India and a re-evaluation of talent by major hiring companies like Meta Platforms, Amazon (company), and Alphabet Inc..
A third-party assessment by B2K Analytics revealed that professionals in India who completed ERC's Modern Software & AI Engineering and Data Science & ML (AI Specialisation) programs between 2023 and 2025 more than doubled their median salaries. The median post-program CTC rose from Rs. 8.7 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, a 104% jump, with the top quartile exceeding Rs. 45 lakh. Out of 12,851 program completers, 11,444 secured placements, an 89% rate, with hiring companies including Meta Platforms, Amazon (company), Alphabet Inc., Apple Inc., Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Razorpay, Swiggy, Walmart — PhonePe, Walmart — Flipkart, Adobe Inc., Salesforce, and Atlassian. This trend highlights a significant repricing of experience in the Indian tech sector, where AI fluency is becoming a critical filter for employment. Abhimanyu Saxena and Amar Srivastava of ERC emphasized that the bar for employability has moved, with companies prioritizing professionals who can work with AI systems. The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report and the Educational Testing Service's 2026 Human Progress Report further support the global and national importance of AI and continuous upskilling.
