Armenia hosted the RISE Powered by Silicon Mountains 2026 exhibition from June 3-4 in Yerevan, showcasing its technological products, defense systems, and innovative solutions. Organized by the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies with support from the Government of Armenia, the event featured over 40 local companies and aimed to strengthen Armenia's image as a high-tech country. Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, announced that the defense industry generated a turnover of approximately 70 billion AMD and is expanding internationally, with deals worth tens of millions of dollars being signed. The government plans to allocate 190 billion drams as direct investment in the economy and science, and provided 60 million drams in grant funding for the exhibition. The event also included forums on Cybersecurity, Defense Industry, and Engineering Solutions, fostering B2B meetings and promoting Armenian-made products for export. Armen Baldryan, Head of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies, emphasized the high-tech industry's role as an economic driver for Armenia.
