The investment by Improbable in Otomo is expected to boost Otomo's growth in the DeFi intelligence sector, potentially increasing its market share and user base. This move also signals Improbable's strategic expansion into the AI and web3 intersection, which could lead to further innovations and investments in this rapidly evolving market.
Improbable, a UK-based venture builder, has invested $2 million in Otomo, a portfolio-aware DeFi intelligence layer. This investment is part of Improbable's strategy to back companies at the intersection of AI and web3, following the successful launch of the Somnia Foundation's Layer 1 blockchain. Otomo's platform monitors users' on-chain positions across multiple protocols and chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Tether (cryptocurrency), providing real-time alerts on material changes to risk, cost, or opportunity. The company, founded by Clément Hecquet and Dylan Breugne, has achieved significant organic growth, attracting over 2,000 users and integrating with more than 10 protocols like Aave Labs and Uniswap. The funding will be used for product development, expanded multi-chain coverage, and go-to-market strategies, with Improbable also providing operational support and advisory.
