The launch of the FI2 service by A.P. Moller–Maersk is expected to positively impact the shipping and logistics industries by increasing capacity and efficiency on the China-India trade route. This will likely lead to improved supply chain resilience and reduced transit times for businesses, particularly those in the automotive, chemicals, retail, and technology sectors, benefiting trade between China, India, and Pakistan.
A.P. Moller–Maersk has launched a new dedicated ocean service, FI2, connecting Far East Asia to the Indian Subcontinent, with its first sailing from Shanghai on June 4. This weekly service, operated by six vessels of 4,500 TEU capacity, aims to meet the growing customer demand for additional capacity on the China-India trade route. The port rotation includes Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, and Pakistan — Port Qasim. A key feature is the call at APM Terminals Pipavav in India, which serves as a gateway to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) rail network, enabling A.P. Moller–Maersk to offer seamless integrated logistics solutions for inland transportation to India's National Capital Region (NCR). This service is designed to provide quicker, more reliable, and high-frequency connections for high-value and time-sensitive cargo, enhancing trade between China, India, and Pakistan.
