Apollo Hospitals performs world's first robotic VEIL

Apollo Hospitals Chennai has performed the world's first Video Endoscopic Inguinal Lymphadenectomy (VEIL) using the Hugo RAS system through a lateral approach. This minimally invasive technique, used on a 40-year-old male patient with penile cancer, accesses groin lymph nodes from the side of the thigh, reducing complications like wound-healing issues and lymph leakage common in traditional open surgery. The patient made an excellent recovery. This achievement solidifies Apollo Hospitals' position as a leader in robotic-assisted cancer care and expands the full spectrum of uro-oncology procedures performed using the Hugo RAS system. Dr. N.
