The launch of the ADG Framework by EC-Council is expected to positively impact the cybersecurity and technology sectors by providing a standardized approach to AI governance, potentially reducing risks associated with AI adoption. This could lead to increased confidence in AI deployment across various industries, benefiting companies like Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and Microsoft that contributed to its development.
EC-Council, a global leader in cybersecurity education, has launched its proprietary Adopt. Defend. Govern. (ADG) AI Framework and a free AI Readiness Self-Assessment Tool. This initiative aims to help organizations securely adopt, operationalize, and govern artificial intelligence at scale. Developed with input from practitioners and advisory board members from major companies including Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, KPMG, Deloitte, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone — NTT Data, GE HealthCare, Hitachi — Hitachi, Prudential, and Salesforce, the ADG Framework provides a unified operating model with three pillars, 12 minimum controls, and nine governance surfaces. It aligns with global standards such as the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and NIST AI RMF. The launch also includes three new AI certifications: Certified AI Program Manager (CAIPM), Certified Offensive AI Security Professional (COASP), and Certified Responsible AI Governance and Ethics Professional (CRAGE), designed to build workforce capabilities in AI governance and security. The framework addresses the growing urgency for AI governance as global AI spending is projected to reach $2.5 trillion in 2026, while governance maturity remains low.
