Microchip launches XpressConnect PCIe 6.0 retimers

Microchip Technology has launched its new XpressConnect PCIe 6.0 and CXL 3.1 retimers, designed to address signal reach and latency challenges in large-scale AI data centers. These retimers extend signal reach, reduce latency by approximately 80% compared to PCIe 6.0 specifications, and improve the utilization of AI accelerators and GPUs. The products are engineered to integrate with Microchip Technology's existing data center portfolio, including Switchtec PCIe Gen 6 switches, Adaptec SmartRAID controllers, and Flashtec NVMe controllers, offering a pre-validated and interoperable fabric. The XpressConnect retimers also support flexible link configurations and enterprise-class features, aiming to reduce single-vendor dependency for hyperscalers and simplify troubleshooting through the ChipLink diagnostic ecosystem.
