Nigeria receives Japan-donated ICT equipment

The Nigeria has officially received and distributed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment and materials to 15 Federal and State Colleges of Education across Nigeria. This initiative, supported by the Government of Japan and UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa, is part of a regional project aimed at strengthening teacher training, promoting digital literacy, and improving access to quality education, particularly for girls, in West Africa. The Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Ahmed, highlighted that the project aligns with Nigeria's Renewed Hope Agenda and national priorities in education. The equipment includes laptops, tablets, desktop computers, smart boards, projectors, and printers. Officials from Japan and UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa commended Nigeria's commitment to education reforms and reaffirmed their support for ongoing efforts in teacher development and girls' education. The project also covers Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, and Mauritania.
