The presentation of positive preclinical data for ATG-207 by Antengene could lead to increased investor confidence and a potential rise in Antengene's stock price. This event also highlights the ongoing innovation in the biotechnology sector, particularly in treatments for autoimmune diseases, which could attract further investment into the industry.
Antengene Corporation Limited announced the presentation of its first preclinical data on ATG-207, an αCD3-TGF-β bifunctional fusion protein, at the 2026 European Society of Endocrinology in London, United Kingdom. ATG-207 is designed to treat T cell-mediated autoimmune diseases by selectively suppressing pathogenic T cells and promoting regulatory T cell induction. Preclinical studies showed ATG-207's preferential binding to TGFβRIII, downregulation of surface T cell receptor expression, induction of regulatory T cells in vitro, and therapeutic efficacy in an experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis model. The drug candidate also induced substantially lower levels of proinflammatory cytokine release compared to controls. This marks Antengene's first disclosed program from its T cell-mediated autoimmune disease research efforts. Additionally, Antengene recently entered a worldwide exclusive licensing agreement with EITC for ATG-201, a bispecific T-cell engager antibody for B cell-related autoimmune diseases, involving significant upfront and milestone payments.
