The market is impacted by the fraud investigation into the supply of adulterated ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, potentially affecting the reputation and operations of dairy companies like A.R. Dairy Food Private Limited, Malganga Milk & Agro Products Private Limited, and Bhole Baba Organic Dairy Milk Private Limited. The seizure of cash and discovery of property investments linked to the alleged proceeds of crime indicate significant financial misconduct, which could lead to legal and financial repercussions for the involved entities and individuals.
The India — Enforcement Directorate, Hyderabad Zonal Office, conducted extensive search operations at 15 locations across multiple states in connection with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams ghee adulteration fraud case. The searches covered residential and office premises of individuals like Pramil Jain, Vipin Jain, Raju Rajasekaran, Rajesh Mansukhlal Chavda, Apurva Vinaykanth Chavda, Machindra Shantaram Lanke, Ajay Kumar, Mahesh Kumar Rohira, and Ashish Agarwal, as well as dairy plants of A.R. Dairy Food Private Limited, Malganga Milk & Agro Products Private Limited, and Bhole Baba Organic Dairy Milk Private Limited. During the operations, cash amounting to Rs 60 lakh was seized, and investments of Proceeds of Crime in properties valued at over Rs 45 crore were uncovered. The investigation, initiated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, alleges that the accused conspired with certain Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams officials to supply adulterated ghee, causing wrongful loss to the temple body. The Proceeds of Crime were reportedly invested in immovable properties through a complex network of legal entities to conceal their illicit origin.
