Tars, a leading embodied AI company, made a significant appearance at International Conference on Robotics and Automation, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers's international robotics conference, with the global debut of its DexHand platform. Ding Xuedong, Tars' chief scientist and co-founder, delivered a keynote address, highlighting the platform's capabilities. The DexHand, featuring a 21-DoF architecture modeled on human hand topology, demonstrated all 26 English alphabet sign-language gestures and real-time mirror-control. Its design addresses the simulation-to-reality gap in embodied AI through Tars' SenseHub and integrates ultra-high-resolution camera modules. The AWE 3.0 embodied foundation model allows the robot to understand physical properties and predict occurrences. The manufacturing-friendly design, using a rigid quasi-direct-drive system, is built for automated assembly lines, signaling a new era of hand-brain integration in robotics.
