LAWMA officers attacked in Lagos

The incident occurred on Sunday at Mazamaza Bus Stop, shortly after FESTAC First Gate, while officers were carrying out their statutory duties to curb indiscriminate waste disposal. Muyiwa Gbadegesin>>>, the Managing Director of LAWMA, described the attack as unacceptable and a direct affront to government efforts to safeguard public health and maintain environmental sanitation. He warned that assaulting enforcement personnel is a serious offense and vowed that those responsible would be identified and prosecuted. Despite the attack, the enforcement team continued its operations in other areas, and LAWMA reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining enforcement across the state, urging residents to support government efforts and report illegal waste disposal activities.
