Abu Dhabi Ports Group has launched trial operations at the Noatum Ports - Safaga Terminal in Egypt, a significant step towards its full operational launch later this year. This multipurpose terminal, developed under a 30-year concession agreement with Egypt's Egypt — Red Sea Ports Authority, represents a $200 million investment. The terminal is strategically located to serve Upper Egypt, supporting mining activities in the Golden Triangle Economic Zone and strengthening connectivity across Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and global shipping routes. It is designed to handle various cargo types, including containers, dry bulk, liquid bulk, and Ro-Ro cargo. This initiative is part of Egypt's broader goal to become a regional logistics and transit trade hub, aiming to rank among the world's top 15 countries in international trade connectivity by 2030. The project has received financing from the International Finance Corporation and National Bank of Kuwait - Egypt. Abu Dhabi Ports Group>>> has also expanded its presence in Egypt through cruise services and an investment in Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Company.
