The partnership between Trina Solar and Ecohope Solar is expected to boost the solar energy market in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa by increasing the availability of high-efficiency PV modules. This collaboration could lead to reduced balance-of-system costs and lower levelized cost of electricity, making solar projects more attractive to investors and developers in these regions.
Trina Solar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ecohope Solar, a global PV and ESS solutions provider. The agreement, signed at the SNEC PV Power Expo in China — Shanghai, outlines Ecohope Solar's intent to purchase and distribute 600MW of Trina Solar's latest Vertex N G3 and Vertex S+ G3 modules over three years. This cooperation aims to support residential and commercial solar projects across Southeast Asia, with Thailand as a key market, and across the wider Middle East and Africa, focusing on the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The Vertex G3 modules, powered by Trina Solar's n-type i-TOPCon Ultra technology, offer high power output and efficiency, designed to reduce balance-of-system requirements and lower the levelized cost of electricity. This partnership is expected to expand access to advanced photovoltaic technologies and potentially lead to future cooperation in energy storage solutions.
