A series of events commemorating the United Nations International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations was held in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 8, 2026. These events were jointly organized by the China — State Council Information Office of China, the China — Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva, and the International Confucian Association, with co-organization from the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party, the China — Information Office of the People s Government of Zhejiang Province, and the China — Information Office of the People s Government of Henan Province. Over 200 representatives from more than 50 countries attended a high-level seminar focused on promoting mutual understanding and international cooperation. Exhibitions showcasing world civilizations and Chinese culture, including a graphic seals exhibition by the Xiling Seal Engraver s Society and a Silk Road exhibition by the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party and the International Communication Center of Dunhuang Culture, were featured. The Henan Elephant International Communication Center presented a virtual reality experience. An art performance by the Henan Broadcasting System, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the China Disabled People s Performing Art Troupe concluded the day. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proposed by China in June 2024, designating June 10 as the International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations.
