Indian Sailor Rudransh_Chaubey Recounts Gulf War-like Situation

Rudransh Chaubey, an Indian Merchant Navy Trainee Navigation Officer, recounts his experience of being caught in a 'war-like situation' in the Gulf region, specifically near the Strait of Hormuz. His ship, initially bound for Saudi Arabia and Egypt, faced uncertainty after learning that Iran was considering closing the Strait of Hormuz. They rerouted to Bahrain and later loaded urea in Qatar, spending time in United Arab Emirates — Dubai. During this period, Rudransh Chaubey witnessed missile and drone activity, as well as an attack on another ship. The 22-member crew experienced panic but managed the situation through safety drills and critical guidelines provided by India's India — Directorate General of Shipping, which also offered an emergency helpline. Rudransh Chaubey has since returned to India after his contract ended, emphasizing the challenging yet instructive nature of the experience and the importance of following safety protocols for those still in the region.
