Caribbean Community

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is holding a summit to address pressing regional issues, including the impact of United States policies, the humanitarian crisis in Cuba, and broader geopolitical shifts.

The Caribbean Community will receive an additional US$2 billion in financing from African Export–Import Bank, supporting various development projects across its member states. This increased funding is crucial for economic transformation, job creation, and improved livelihoods in the region.

The Caribbean Community bloc leaders met to discuss pressing regional issues, including the U.S. policy toward Venezuela, crime, economic opportunities, and energy. They expressed concerns about changing international rules and the humanitarian situation in Cuba.

The Caribbean Community is a key beneficiary of the African Export–Import Bank's GCRP, receiving support to mitigate the economic impact of the Middle East conflict on its member states, particularly in sustaining essential imports and supporting affected industries.

The Caribbean Community is holding a summit where Marco Rubio will meet with its leaders to discuss regional security, stability, trade, and economic growth. The United States aims to strengthen its commitment to the CARICOM member states.
