Macron Urges Europe's Geopolitical Power Shift

At the Munich Security Conference, French President Emmanuel Macron urged Europe to adopt long-term strategic thinking, including developing deep-strike capabilities and integrating France's nuclear deterrent into a new security architecture. He dismissed claims of Europe's decline and defended efforts against disinformation. Macron emphasized that Europe must become a geopolitical power, capable of defending its interests and facing an aggressive Russia, even after a potential Ukraine war deal. He announced consultations with British and German colleagues, as well as other European leaders, to reshape Europe's security framework, which he believes is outdated from the Cold War era.
