Nutanix released its eighth annual Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) survey and research report, detailing global enterprise progress with cloud adoption, AI use, and infrastructure modernization. Key findings indicate that AI adoption is driving infrastructure modernization, with 85% of respondents reporting that AI accelerates their adoption of containers. The report also highlights challenges such as organizational silos creating AI risks, shadow IT leading to security concerns, and the need for data sovereignty. Despite these challenges, IT executives anticipate AI agents will enhance customer/employee experiences and improve productivity. The survey, conducted by Wakefield Research in November 2025, gathered responses from 1,600 executives across 15 countries, including Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Nutanix executives Lee Caswell, Dan Ciruli, Michael Alp, and Mohammad Abulhouf provided commentary on the report's implications.
