This acquisition is expected to significantly boost the AI infrastructure market by addressing the bottleneck in AI compute power. It signals a strong investment in vertically integrated AI solutions, potentially driving further innovation and competition in the sector.
Nscale has acquired American Intelligence & Power Corporation (AIPCorp), including the Monarch Compute Campus in United States===West Virginia, with plans to build one of the world's largest AI Factories. The Monarch Compute Campus is the United States' first state-certified AI microgrid, scalable to over 8 gigawatts. This acquisition establishes Nscale Energy & Power, a new global division headquartered in Houston, Texas, and brings AIPCorp's experienced team to Nscale. The initial power capacity of 2 gigawatts is expected by the first half of 2028, expanding to approximately 8 gigawatts by 2031. This move aims to meet the growing demand for AI infrastructure, particularly in the United States, by providing long-term, low-cost, onsite powered microgrid solutions.
