The advancement of international crane standards, particularly with significant leadership from China and XCMG, will likely lead to increased global adoption of these standards. This could benefit XCMG and other Chinese manufacturers by standardizing their products and processes, potentially increasing their market share and influence in the construction equipment sector. The overall market for construction equipment may see improved safety and efficiency due to these updated standards.
At the 2026 meetings of the International Organization for Migration's Technical Committee on Cranes (ISO/TC96) in Germany, representatives from 16 countries, including China, gathered to discuss international crane standards. XCMG Vice President and Chief Engineer China — Shanghai led the Chinese delegation, contributing significantly to discussions on crane safety, inspection, and mobile crane operations. China — Shanghai reported on the progress of ISO 12480-2, moving it to the Draft International Standard stage. XCMG also proposed a new work item for ISO 9927-2 and helped advance revisions to ISO 9927-1. These efforts strengthened China's role in international crane standardization, with 14 international crane standards led or revised by China, two new proposals submitted, and six additional projects undertaken under Chinese leadership. XCMG, as the world's third-largest construction equipment manufacturer, continues to support the advancement of Chinese manufacturing and technological innovation in the construction equipment sector.
